Harper
Howdy, I’m Harper! I got my first taste of pan in 2022 when I started playing with Blue Hill's Planet Pan in high school. Tenor has always been my main pan, but I also play basses and cellos when duty calls! I’m studying jazz at the University of Maine, where I've learned that the solution to everything in life is more of those “weird notes”, so you’ll hear a lot of those in my arrangements. Also I’m completely obsessed with video game music, and I refuse to stop until our set list is composed entirely of Nintendo songs!

I started playing pan my sophomore year of high school at George Stevens Academy. Now I'm in college for music at the University of Southern Maine and I've never stopped playing! When I'm not playing doubles in Scrambled Steel I'm playing jazz piano at school. I also arrange for the band.

I’ve been stupid engulfed in the steel drum scene ever since I started playing during my sophomore year of high school. I’ve had the pleasure of playing with a number of cool pan bands from around the Blue Hill Peninsula, and have recently played in New York City's Panorama. You’ll catch me playing tenor and bass in Scrambled Steel, laying down sick melodious grooves. I also happen to be the only member keeping us afloat in a world of boy bands, you’re welcome :)

I started playing pans when I could hardly see over then and never looked back. I mostly play cellos in Scrambled Steel but have lately started dipping my toes into the world of tenor.

I have been playing drums since I was about six or seven years old. When Harper first came to me with the idea of playing in a steel pan band, I was thrilled. This music is so much fun, and with these friends it's an absolute blast.

I started playing steel drums in high school with North Yarmouth Academy’s Steel Industry. I've since played in bands all over Maine. I'm a classically-trained percussionist and have played professionally with ensembles across the country. In addition to primarily playing tenor with Scrambled Steel, at various times I have played basses, double seconds, and cellos. I also occasionally arrange music for the band.
